Trans Canada Trail has set a goal to complete the trail from coast to coast to coast by 2017 - Canada’s 150th Anniversary of Confederation - becoming the longest recreational trail in the world (23,000 km) and connecting Canadians with some of the country’s most awe-inspiring places.
Within The City of Kawartha Lakes, City and County of Peterborough and Northumberland County, the Trans Canada Trail connects as many as 15 communities along a 120 km route, providing a scenic recreational trail through the regions.
